Keep Practising on Your Desktop After the Course

One convenient capability of DaDesktop is that participants can carry on using their course machine for hands-on practice even after the training wraps up. Shortly before the course ends, everyone receives an email asking whether they’d like to keep access to their desktop once the session is over.

Trainer Participant

Usually, a participant’s course desktop is taken down soon after the training concludes. If you’d rather hold onto it so you can rerun lab exercises, you have the option to clone your course desktop into a ‘Standalone Desktop’ for later use.Clone machine after course

Head to your Course, find your Desktop machine, and select the ‘Use desktop after course’ button beside it.

At that point, DaDesktop walks you through a straightforward process and lets you ‘Enable’ this feature.

After it’s enabled, you’ll spot the following indicator beside your course machine

To get into your Standalone machine once the course finishes, click the Standalones menu at the top of your screen.

Any machine that stays idle for a month will be removed, but we always send a heads-up email beforehand so you get plenty of notice if you’d like to keep using your Standalone machines.

Have a look at this page too—it covers how you can manage the retention of your Standalone machine.
