Online Conference Tools

Does DaDesktop function as an online conferencing platform like Zoom or Teams?

Typically, you would need to use a separate tool such as Zoom, Teams, Skype, or WeChat alongside DaDesktop.

While DaDesktop might eventually include a built-in conferencing feature, it is not a current development focus.

What common ground exists between, say, Zoom and DaDesktop?

Both offer a basic chat function.

Public Cloud Services

Is DaDesktop comparable to AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or Aliyun?

Public cloud or computing cloud platforms are engineered to host applications. DaDesktop, on the other hand, is built for people to access remote desktops directly.

Where do AWS and DaDesktop overlap?

From an end-user standpoint, the two share very few similarities. Both let a person operate a remote machine and run applications on it. However, AWS EC2 is aimed at system administrators, whereas DaDesktop is purpose-built for training participants, instructors, course coordinators, and management teams.

Some organisations still rely on AWS or other cloud providers for remote course delivery. However, a standard public cloud setup tends to be pricier, slower, and less user-friendly compared to DaDesktop. DaDesktop is finely tuned for delivering courses, not for general-purpose computing.

Learning Management Systems (LMS)

Is DaDesktop the same as Moodle, Rise Up, Open edX, or other LMS platforms?

An LMS typically focuses on facilitating educational structures like university courses or is designed for self-paced online learning. DaDesktop is currently built for instructor-led corporate training. Its primary audience includes corporate employees, government staff, and similar groups. It is not specifically designed for school or university students.

DaDesktop centres on a live, instructor-led approach where the trainer is actively present during course delivery.

What similarities exist between an LMS and DaDesktop?

DaDesktop includes a range of features that overlap with LMS functionality and even go beyond it.

With DaDesktop, a course administrator can enrol students, monitor attendance, review engagement levels, check connection status, and even record participants' screens during sessions.

The platform handles much of this automatically. For instance, a trainer doesn’t need to take attendance manually—the data is already logged in the system. DaDesktop can capture user location, connection duration, which exercises were completed, which were skipped, and more.

Participants who could not attend a live session can watch recordings and practise within an environment identical to what was used during the actual course.
