SSH Connectivity

Many users request SSH access to DaDesktop machines for added convenience, as it lets course participants and trainers connect to their desktops from a personal laptop or desktop. It makes sense that typing commands in a local terminal often feels more natural than working inside a remote desktop environment.

Although it's technically possible, we don't allow SSH access in this context because it would unnecessarily open the DaDesktop course machines to serious security risks.

A drag-and-drop file transfer capability has been introduced, so you can now easily move files from your own device into the DaDesktop environment. Some earlier requests for full SSH access came from the absence of a file transfer option, but with this feature now available, using DaDesktop is even simpler.

It's also worth mentioning that full QEMU Spice Desktop support is now available on both Windows and Linux OS templates, making it far easier than before to copy and paste commands from your local machine right into DaDesktop—even from a Mac or when using non-English character sets.

For DDOP - DaDesktop on Premise servers, SSH access is permitted if required.
