Provision a Desktop from OS Template
To get started with an OS template, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the course and open the Desktops menu.
- Click "Create From OS Template"
Here you'll find all the options for provisioning a desktop from an OS template.

Below is an explanation of each field:
-
GPU Model
Pick a GPU model and type if needed. Checking 'Display GPU enabled servers' will filter to show only servers with available GPUs. -
Datacentre / Server
Select the datacentre region and server closest to you in China. -
OS to clone from
Operating System (OS) templates include Windows, Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Almalinux, and more). -
Include custom, old, beta & rc Versions
DaDesktop updates its templates regularly, but if you run into trouble with the latest template, you can try an older version here. -
CPU
Choose the number of CPU cores you need. The default is 8 cores, which works well for most typical Linux and Windows requirements. -
Memory
Set the maximum memory in GB for this desktop. Keep in mind you're limited by the server's resources—each server has its own memory cap. To ask for higher limits, contact us on Support Chat. -
Disk Space
Specify the disk space allocation. Default is 50 GB.
