Establishing a Remote Desktop Connection
Linux
For RDP-based connections, the following client applications are available:
- Remmina
- KRDS
- Freerdp2-x11
Among these options, freerdp2-x11 is the sole client that offers multi-monitor support.
RDP connection setup with multiple monitors:
Setting up freerdp2-x11 on DaDesktop Private Node (ddpn)
sudo apt install freerdp2-x11
Initiating a connection to your Work Desktop
xfreerdp /multimon /u:dadesktop/v:zh4cn.npg.io:16666
Ending the session
CTRL+ALT+Enter
or
Windows Start Menu > Log Off -> Disconnect
Enabling audio and microphone passthrough
xfreerdp /multimon /u:dadesktop/v:zh4cn.npg.io:16666 /microphone:sys:alsa /sound:sys:alsa
xfreerdp /multimon /u:dadesktop/v:10.0.3.4 /microphone:sys:alsa /sound:sys:alsa /gfx +window-drag -compression -sec-rdp -sec-tls -encryption /gdi:hw /video
